About Brian HigginsI've been drawn to colors ever since I was a little boy, eyes aglow from the technicolor world of the 1970's. A painting class in high school challenged me to recreate Van Gogh's "Cafe Terrace at Night," and the strobing stars and yellows awakened that child. This nascent moment revisited me again as an adult, this time as a Christmas gift for an art class from my wife. I fell in love with the palette knife, which allows me to unleash the energy that lives in color - skipping and smearing the paint across the canvas until the chunks and streaks unveil another realm for the viewer to explore and disappear.
